Arrival in Rochefort

The adventure along the river begins...
Your hotel room awaits you in this charming 18th-century maritime town, birthplace of the Corderie Royale and the Hermione. Settle in, fit out your bike with the equipment provided (panniers, GPX itinerary), then set off for a stroll along the Charente. Dine in front of the illuminations at the Arsenal, and let the excitement of tomorrow's departure win you over.

Tomorrow, the Flow Vélo takes you to Saintes and Cognac and its liquid treasures... Ready to pedal between river and vineyard?

DAY 1: Rochefort → Cognac

Set a course for the white gold of the Charente!
Your journey begins gently along the Flow Vélo, a greenway that meanders to the peaceful rhythm of the river. Pass through Saintes and its Gallo-Roman amphitheatre, before gliding through floodplain meadows and poplar groves. Stop at Saint Savinien for a picnic by the water, then let yourself be guided by the first wineries. At the end of the day, Cognac reveals itself with its century-old wine cellars and cobbled streets.

In the evening, enjoy a glass of Pineau des Charentes on the terrace... Tomorrow, the secrets of this nectar await you!

DAY 2: Cognac → Rochefort

Back to the ocean, all senses satisfied
After a must-see visit to a cellar master (with tasting!), take the Flow Vélo in the opposite direction. This time, keep your eyes peeled: the scenery unfolds like an impressionist painting, between the reflections of the river and the silhouettes of barges. Stop off at Port-d'Envaux to admire its blond stone houses, before returning to Rochefort and its maritime atmosphere.

Congratulations, you've covered 110 km of gentle Charente... with a taste of home!
