Arrival in La Rochelle

The adventure begins...
Your hotel room awaits you, equipped with everything you need for a successful trip: panniers, GPX itinerary, and a detailed travel diary to record your favorites. Settle in, breathe in the sea air, and set off to explore La Rochelle, this historic city with its lively streets and picturesque old port. Dine in front of the illuminated medieval towers, and let the excitement of tomorrow's departure lull you to sleep.

Tomorrow, we're off to Ronce-les-Bains for our first iodine immersion!

Stage 1: La Rochelle → Ronce-les-Bains (70 km)

First pedal between salt marshes and ocean
Departure along the Charente coast, with its oyster-farming villages and shady cycle paths. Arrive at Ronce-les-Bains, a discreet resort where warm sand and dunes await you. The perfect way to start your day, with a swim and dinner right on the water.

Tomorrow, the Côte Sauvage and Soulac-sur-Mer are calling you!

Stage 2: Ronce-les-Bains → Soulac-sur-Mer (57 km)

The magic of the Landes dunes and forests
Pedal on to Pointe de la Coubre, its mythical lighthouse and lunar landscapes. Then glide along forest tracks to Soulac-sur-Mer, a Belle Époque jewel on the Gironde estuary. An evening of ancient villas and flamboyant sunsets.

The Médoc and its legendary waves await you tomorrow...

Stage 3: Soulac-sur-Mer → Lacanau (66 km - 2 nights)

Surfing, pine forests and tranquil lakes
Cross the Landes forest to reach Lacanau, an unmissable surfing spot. Two days of alternating surfing sessions (lessons included!), bike rides around the lakes and lazing on the endless beaches.

After the effort, it's time to relax... and enjoy the Arcachon basin!

Stage 4: Lacanau → Arcachon (50 km - 2 nights)

Dune du Pilat and oyster beds
A magical journey via Cap Ferret (boat crossing) and its fishing villages. In Arcachon, climb the Dune du Pilat for a breathtaking panorama, then sample oysters overlooking the basin. Free day to explore the secret coves or visit the cabanes tchanquées.

Head south to the beaches of the Landes!

Stage 5: Arcachon → Mimizan (80 km)

Forest, ocean and tranquility
Drive between pines and lakes to Mimizan, an authentic resort with a California Landes feel. Swim in the Etang d'Aureilhan or surf on the gentle waves of the central beach.

Tomorrow, we head for Contis and its wild spots...

Stage 6: Mimizan → Contis-Plage (15 km)

Lights and powerful waves
Short but intense stage along the wild coast, with a stop at Contis and its emblematic lighthouse. Long deserted beaches and resin-scented dunes.

The Basque Country gets closer...

Stage 7: Contis → Vieux-Boucau (40 km)

Between lakes and ocean
Pedal to Vieux-Boucau, a small village where you can surf both in the ocean and on the marine lake. A relaxing evening of night markets and surfing.

Final stretch to Hossegor, the surfing mecca!

Stage 8: Vieux-Boucau → Hossegor (20 km)

Mythical waves and a cool atmosphere
Arrive in Hossegor, the surfing capital of Europe. Enjoy the legendary spots (La Gravière, Les Culs Nus), browse the board stores, and savor the town's vibrant energy.

Last stop: Biarritz, queen of the Basque Country!

Stage 9: Hossegor → Biarritz (40 km - 2 nights)

A grand finale of luxury and waves
Final pedal along the Basque coast, stopping off at Bidart and its cliffs. In Biarritz, celebrate your journey with a visit to the Rochers de la Vierge, surfing at the Côte des Basques, and a star-studded dinner overlooking the ocean.
